TJIMUR DANCE THEATRE

Tjimur Dance Theatre is the first dance company in Taiwan dedicated to contemporary Paiwan cultural aesthetics. It was founded in 2006 by its company head and artistic director, Ljuzem Madiljin together with Baru Madiljin as dance director and choreographer. Based on the roots of the Paiwan indigenous Tjimur Tribe, the company attempts to transform and integrate Paiwan melodies and dances into modern body aesthetics through the learning process of traditional Paiwan sound and movement. Tjimur is committed to retaining their traditional cultural foundation while seeking out the core essence of Paiwan culture, where songs are infused with dance and dance inspires music. Tjimur showcases one of the most unique and distinctive approaches to contemporary dance in Taiwan.
